Initial Thyroid Program Success
The Afirma Gene Expression Classifier was validated in prospective, double-blind multicenter clinical trials involving more than 50 academic and community practices in the United States. The Afirma Gene Expression Classifier can identify benign nodules (NPV > 95%) on samples previously diagnosed as indeterminate by cytopathology.1-3

Future Applications
Veracyte is conducting research which could ultimately lead to the development of additional genomic tests that would be incorporated within its comprehensive Afirma Thyroid FNA Analysis.
