Kate Godfrey joined Veracyte as Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer in November of 2021 and is responsible for the company’s enterprise-wide compliance programs, which manage risks associated with all core business activities, as well as its global privacy program. She has nearly 20 years of legal, compliance and privacy experience across the healthcare and biotech industry. Most recently, she was the Vice President, Government Affairs, Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer for Adaptive Biotechnologies. In that role, Ms. Godfrey provided guidance in support of four new product and indication launches, developed a comprehensive compliance program that included company-wide training and built a global privacy program to ensure compliance with the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (CCPA) and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Prior to that, Ms. Godfrey spent eight years in roles of ascending responsibility at Genentech and Roche helping to build out the organizations’ global compliance programs. She holds a B.S. from DePaul University and received her J.D. from California Western School of Law.
