What is the Decipher Bladder test?

Decipher Bladder is a molecular subtyping tool that identifies patients who are more likely to progress, be upstaged, and benefit from certain therapies.

The test is for patients with T1 to T4a bladder cancer and is performed on tissue from a transurethral resection of bladder tumor (TURBT). It classifies tumors by molecular subtype, complementing traditional staging and pathology.

Accurate clinical staging in bladder cancer can be challenging, limiting clinicians’ ability to guide treatment decisions for their patients. Our findings suggest that molecular subtyping information provided by the Decipher Bladder test can help clinicians better identify which patients may benefit from more-intensive treatment with neoadjuvant chemotherapy and which will not and can thus avoid its toxicity.”²
