Karen Possemato

Karen Possemato is Senior Vice President of Corporate Marketing, Communications and Commercial Operations at Veracyte. Ms. Possemato is a global marketing and communications executive with 30 years of experience in driving results in high-growth companies.  

Prior to joining Veracyte, Ms. Possemato served as Chief Marketing Officer for Seer, a proteomics company, where she was responsible for public relations, internal communications, brand strategy and campaigns, digital marketing and experience, product management and marketing. Previously, she was Vice President of Global Marketing and Communications for Illumina, where she oversaw all areas of communications, marketing, eCommerce and corporate citizenship over a 16-year period of rapid growth. Earlier in her career, Ms. Possemato held commercial leadership roles at QIAGEN and Invitrogen (now Thermo Fisher Scientific).  

She has received numerous awards in her career, including being named “Businesswoman of the Year” by the San Diego Business Journal in 2019, and has authored multiple publications on marketing. She currently serves on the Dean’s Leadership Council for Biological Sciences at the University of California, San Diego. Ms. Possemato holds a B.S. in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from the University of California, San Diego.
