Afirma GRID

The Afirma GRID research-use-only data resource is shared with the research community to accelerate scientific discoveries in thyroid nodules and thyroid cancer.

What is Afirma GRID?

The Afirma GRID (Genomic Resource for Intelligent Discovery) proprietary research-use-only database is designed to help clinicians advance the understanding of thyroid nodules and thyroid cancer at the molecular level.

The Afirma GRID data resource enables researchers and clinicians to uncover new insights into thyroid nodule and thyroid cancer biology by providing access to:

  • >300K whole-transcriptome profiles
  • Up to 32 locked gene expression signatures

Important

GRID data is for research use only and is not intended to guide patient management.

  • Database size: >300K whole-transcriptome profiles and 32 gene signatures
  • Research focus: Thyroid nodule and thyroid cancer management
  • Clinical status: Research use only — not for clinical use

How to read Afirma GRID reports

Watch Dr. Joshua Klopper, Veracyte Medical Director for Endocrinology, provide a page-by-page overview of the Afirma GRID research-use-only report.

How Afirma GRID research collaborations work

Afirma GRID data access may require research collaboration agreements. Our medical and scientific teams work with qualified researchers to:

  • Evaluate research proposals
  • Provide technical support for approved projects
  • Execute appropriate research collaboration agreements
  • Facilitate publication of meaningful discoveries

Important

Research outcomes published in peer-reviewed journals contribute to scientific understanding but do not constitute clinical recommendations.
